Volunteer Program at OSA

Volunteers learn orienteering with OSA staff

We are currently accepting volunteers at our OSA Research Center in Raleigh. The OSARC volunteer program is a competitive opportunity provided for students and those interested in furthering their career in the field of archaeology.  The program provides the opportunity for volunteers to learn the mechanisms of an archaeology laboratory, and often involves (but does not always include) cleaning, conservation, and analysis of artifacts, lifting boxes (approximately 20 lbs), minimal field work, processing environmental reviews and data entry. Volunteer spaces are limited and filled on a first-come first-serve basis throughout the year. Volunteer terms last six months and no prior archaeological experience is necessary. However, we encourage volunteers to dedicate a minimum of four hours a week. To volunteer, conduct research, or intern at the OSA Research Center please fill out this form.
