Rachael was born and raised in Greenville, NC and received her BA in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology from East Carolina University in 2014. While in school she participated in a prehistoric field school and then went abroad to Ireland and participated in a bio-archaeological field school. Upon graduating she worked for several companies such as AECOM, TRC, New South, and other smaller firms in Cultural Resource Management in prehistoric and historical archaeology. Rachael has worked up and down the East Coast from Pennsylvania to Florida and on all different phases of projects as a technician and as a crew chief. Since moving to Western North Carolina in 2015 with her husband most of her experience has now been in WNC Archaeology.
Rachael became a permanent staff member of the Western office of OSA in 2023 as a staff archaeologist where she supports the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
