Student Symposium

Presented by: Office of State Archaeology
Event Description:

The North Carolina Office of State Archaeology invites undergraduate and graduate students to present their research during our October Archaeology Month Student Symposium. The symposium will take place at the North Carolina State Archives Building on October 12, 2018 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, followed by a social gathering and an evening lecture by Dr. Christopher R. Moore with the Savannah River Archaeological Research Program.

Students are encouraged to submit papers that fit into this year’s Archaeology Month theme - Dynamic Landscapes and Changing Environments: 14,000 Years of Human History in North Carolina – but are not required to do so. There is no fee associated with attending or presenting in the symposium. Presentations should be fifteen minutes long (roughly seven typed, double-spaced pages). We will not be accepting any papers discussing human remains, and reserve the right to decline any proposed presentations. Further details about the event will be provided following the selection of abstracts.
