Site File Research Scheduling

Update as of March 7, 2020: In accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order 117, and to help limit the spread of COVID-19, the Office of State Archaeology will suspend public operations beginning March 17. During this time, our facilities will not be open to the public, which includes consultants wishing to access our site files for conducting background research.
Until we reopen to the public, please contact us at if you wish to obtain information on archaeological sites within a project area. Someone from our office will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your request.

As we currently do not offer web-based access to archaeological information in North Carolina, we ask that you visit our Raleigh Office to perform background research. To request an appointment, please fill out the form below. Due to limited space please provide 48-hour notice for appointment requests. Students and other academic researchers may also use this form to schedule a visit. If you have questions please contact Devon Borgardt.
