Clovis projectile points are among the oldest artifacts found in North Carolina and can date back as far as 13,300 years ago. This artifact was found in Chatham county and has the signature concave base and pronounced flutes, or channel flakes, removed from both sides to aid in tying to a spear. It is made from a material called crystal quartz, which looks like glass but is much less brittle!
